Subwoofer excursion shutter speed test on Clubbed to Death by Rob Daugan

  • This is a video test to see what shutter speed is best for capturing subwoofer excursion.
Normally it's good to follow the 180deg rule or if you are filming in 30fps use 60th/s. So always double your framerame.
This video here is shot at 50fps at 1/50th, 1/100th, and 1/200th.
To me the 1/200th looks the best because it pronounces the movement a bit more, but i loose twice as much light. So the ISO was at 1600.
The 180reg rule or 1/100th, looks natural and i get a ton more light so cleaner image.
But sadly nothing is compared to what i see. Sub is moving 30-40% more in real life than on video =/. I'm pushing around 19-20mm one direction here but it doesn't seem like it.
Hope this is useful to someone.
