Adam T10S Active Subwoofer - Review & Demo

  • Sam takes a quick look at the new Adam Audio T10S Active Subwoofer, check it out here: www.pmtonline.co.uk/adam-audio-t10s-active-subwoofer
Intended for use in a home studio, the 10S is the latest addition to Adam’s affordable T-series, and it’s been designed to compliment the award winning T5V and T7V reference monitors, both ascetically and sonically, but obviously it will also be compatible with any other pair of active speakers.
Specs-wise, the T10S packs a pretty mean punch, with it’s class D power amplifier kicking out 130 watts through a high quality, downwards firing 10” woofer. There’s an adjustable two channel crossover to cut frequencies above either 120 hz or 80hz, a phase reverse switch, and an output level knob, and all of these combined allow you to calibrate the sub to get the optimum performance when it’s integrated into your monitoring setup.
There's the choice of either RCA phono or balanced XLR inputs, with each channel also featuring an output, so you can chain on your main reference monitors and finally, there’s an input for an optional remote switch which allows you to bypass the sub when mixing.
The T10S has been designed to compliment Adam’s other studio monitors so it’s pretty sleek and discreet looking, and despite it’s power and larger 10” speaker, it’s still a reasonably compact unit that won’t take up too much room in a home studio. As with all other Adam products, you also get a 5 year warranty when you register it with them.
