Skar Audio SK-4500.1D AMP DYNO TESTING - Certified / Uncertified / Dynamic (SMD AD-1)

  • This is a video showing Skar Audio's SK-4500.1D most powerful monoblock class D Amplifier in live testing using the SMD-AD1 Amplifier Dyno. The AD-1 is one of the most accurate ways to test the real power output of an amplifier as it reads the power at a constant resistance load based on your choosing, with a variety of testing methods.
    In this video, we will be testing the SK-4500.1D on all 3 tests it offers. The Certified Method of testing is the most accurate and true test to go by, and that will be the first test we perform. Followed by the uncertified test and dynamic (burst power) tests...
    We had this amplifier on an uncharged battery bank consisting of (4) Shuriken SK-BT16 16v batteries. They were pretty low in this test but nonetheless allowed the SK-4500.1D to show off it's real power capabilities. Results are below!

    Certified Amp Dyno Run @ 1 Ohm : 4,943 Watts at 13.85v
    Un-Certified Amp Dyno Run @ 1 Ohm : 4,996 Watts at 13.85v
    Dynamic Power Run (Burst) @ 1 Ohm : 6,208 Watts at 14.88v
    Dynamic Power Run (Burst) @ .5 Ohm : 8,641 Watts at 15.42v
    For anyone wondering, the reason the voltage is much higher in the dynamic modes is because if you notice in the video the certified and uncert runs really draw on the electrical as it runs through the test to reach max power, whereas the burst test does just that - tests power instantly for only a short time.
